I know its not a mountain bike that I’m using in this demo, but you get the idea.

    If you dip that piece of pad in rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) first, it will remove any “glaze” from the rim, too…and will work faster!

    Cool tip — I hadn’t thought of using the brake shoe to hold a scouring pad in place.
